System Requirements
To use Endpoint Cloud, you will need to set up your servers, computers, and network to meet the following:
- Hardware requirements
- Vault server requirements
- Desktop and laptop requirements
- Agent Requirements
- Network requirements
- Server requirements
- Active Directory and access requirements.
Note
There are additional requirements for the on-premises Endpoint Cloud components, see What do you need for an on-premise trial or implementation?.
Hardware requirements
In this section, you can find out about the hardware requirements for:
- Private Cloud Vaults
- Agents on endpoint devices
Vault requirements
The hardware requirements for your Vault may vary, depending on the number of devices that you will protect. The following tables show our recommendations.
| 1-250 Users | |
|---|---|
|
Operating System
|
Windows Server 2016 to 2025 Note: Vendor End Of Life versions of older OS'es will still work, but are no longer supported by Cibecs. |
| CPU | 4 Cores / vCPUs |
| RAM | 6 GB (reserved for Vault) |
| 251-500 Users | |

Agent requirements
These are the recommended system requirements in order for endpoint devices to successfully run the Cibecs Agent.
| Agent Requirement | |
|---|---|

Operating System
|
Windows 11 Note: Vendor End Of Life versions of older OS'es will still work, but are no longer supported by Cibecs. |
| CPU | i3, i5, i7 or AMD equivalent |
| RAM | 384MB available for the Agent |
| Storage |
Solid-state drives for better performance 500MB free |
Network requirements
The various Endpoint Cloud components communicate via the internet and local area network to accomplish tasks like authentication and protection.
| Requirement | Description |
|---|---|
| Endpoint Cloud tenant resolves the IP | <nslookup endpointcloud.com> |
| Network allows access to cloud tenant |
Firewalls and proxy servers should allow communications with *.endpointcloud.com Incoming and outgoing port: 443 |
| Firewalls allow client computers to communicate with the Vault server | Incoming and outgoing port: 9000 |
* is your tenant name, for example, https://silveroaks.endpointcloud.com.
Connector requirements
The Connector will typically be installed on the same hardware as the Vault. If you do not have an on-premises Vault, then you'll need the following minimum hardware specifications for the installation of the Connector.
|
Operating System
|
Windows Server 2016 -> 2025* Out of support versions of Windows Server will still work, but are no longer supported by Cibecs. |
| CPU | 4 Cores/vCPU |
| RAM | 4 GB (reserved for Connector) |
| Storage | 500 GB |
Active Directory and access requirements
The following requirements must be met for providing access:
| Requirement | Description |
|---|---|
| Active Directory domain for user authentication via AD, or a standalone server for Workgroup users. |
Endpoint Cloud supports user and devices that connect to an Active Directory domain, as well as Workgroup support. Domain-based Connectors can authenticate workgroup devices as well.
|
|
Connector server must be joined to the Active Directory domain as a member if AD authentication is required. Otherwise a standard workgroup server.
|
If using AD, this must be the same AD domain that is used for authenticating users |
|
Windows server admin account must have sufficient permissions
|
For domains it must have permissions to:
|
| Firewalls allow client computers to communicate with the Vault server |
Incoming and outgoing port: 9000
