Email Backup and Protection
You can set Endpoint Cloud to backup and protect the archive files of your email client. For example, you can add Microsoft Outlook as an Email client and then set Endpoint Cloud to back up and protect all of Outlooks PST files or only those PST files that are active.
The Email settings are on the Policy that is used to backup your device.
Add an Email Client for Backup
To add an email client:
- Display the Policy Editor for the Policy that you want to change (click Policies and then click on the Policy).

The Policy Editor is displayed automatically when you create a new Policy.
- Make sure the Protected Data tab is shown.
- Expand the Emails section.
- Click the plus (+) icon.
- Select the Email Client, for example, Microsoft Outlook.
- Choose what PST files to back up:
- All PSTs - Endpoint Cloud will backup all PST files, even if they are inactive or not associated with the email client.
- Active PSTs - Endpoint Cloud will only backup the PST files that are associated with the email client and are currently active in the Outlook profile.
- Click Save Changes.
Edit an Email Client
To make changes to an existing email client:
- Display the Policy Editor for the Policy that you want to change (click Policies and then click on the Policy).

The Policy Editor is displayed automatically when you create a new Policy.
- Make sure the Protected Data tab is shown.
- Expand the Emails section.
- Click on the Edit icon (pencil) for the email client that you want to change.
- Use the Edit Email Client dialog to choose what files are backed up:
- All PSTs - Endpoint Cloud will backup all PST files, even if they are inactive or not associated with the email client.
- Active PSTs - Endpoint Cloud will only backup the PST files that are associated with the email client and are currently active.
- Click Save Changes.
Delete an Email Client
To remove an email client:
- Display the Policy Editor for the Policy that you want to change (click Policies and then click on the Policy).

- Expand the Emails section.
- Click on the Bin icon for the email client that you want to remove.
