Policies - Overview

Endpoint Cloud needs to know what files you want to protect and back up. You provide these instructions by setting up a Policy

A Policy is a set of rules that define:

  • Protected Data - What data is selected for protection and backup.
  • Backup & Restore options - How often the backups occur.
  • DLP - Whether any Data Loss Prevention features are used to protect your data should a device be lost or stolen. These include local Encryption, Data Theft Prevention, and Geolocation.
  • Migration - Whether Windows user profile settings can be backed up for migrating to other devices. 

You can create as many Policies as you need. You might have one Policy for everyone or you could have different Policies for each department in your organization. 

To view, create, and edit Policies, you will use the Policies Page and the Policy Editor Page.
