Enable the User Profile Migration Feature

You can use Endpoint Cloud's User Profile Migration feature to back up the Windows user profile information on a device. You can then transfer the information to a different device by performing a restore.

To use profile migration, enable it in the Policy used by the device you want to back up:

  1. Click Policies.
  2. Edit the Policy that is associated with the Team to which the device belongs.
  3. Click Migration.
  4. Use the slider to enable the profile migration for Microsoft Windows User Profiles. (Green is enabled, gray is disabled).

  5. Click the Show more link to see a full list of the Windows user profile information that will be backed up. It includes taskbar layout, mapped network drives, folder options, email accounts, previously attached pst files, and email signatures.
  6. Click Save and Close.

Endpoint Cloud will back up the user data and profile settings on all devices that are associated with this Policy. The profile back up will occur when the next business data backup takes place (as scheduled in the Policy). It will run once every 30 days to ensure that it is updated periodically.

When a backup has been made, you can migrate the settings to a new device.

Note

If you want to turn the user profile migration feature off, see Disable the Migration Feature.
