Secure Remote Restore - Overview
Secure Remote Restore enables Security Officers to securely restore user data directly from Endpoint Cloud via a web browser, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure data recovery.
Unlike a standard restore, this feature does not require discovering or activating the user's device beforehand. As long as the device has previously been protected by Endpoint Cloud, Security Officers can immediately initiate the restore process.
Note
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is required to use Secure Remote Restore.
This restore capability is especially useful in scenarios such as:
- When an employee has left the organization, and their Active Directory (AD) account has been deleted.
- During investigations where rapid access to user data is critical.
- When a user urgently requires access to their data but cannot access their device.
- Assisting IT with periodically performing test recoveries for audit purposes to demonstrate and verify that restores function as expected.
