Secure Remote Restore Troubleshooting
Secure Remote Restore allows you to recover files remotely while maintaining security and control. Before you begin, ensure your setup meets the necessary prerequisites for a smooth restore process.
If you're new to this feature, we recommend reviewing the Secure Remote Restore - Overview to understand how it works.
Before performing a Secure Remote Restore, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
1. The device initiating the restore must be on the same network as the Vault to enable communication.
2. If the device is on a different network, verify that the Vault is accessible over the Internet.
3. The Connector and Vault is up and running.
4. A certificate stored on the Vault must be approved for browser use. This one-time approval ensures a secure connection.
Before proceeding, ensure that your Connector and Vault is online.
If the Connector is offline, a warning will be displayed.
If this is your first time using Secure Remote Restore, you may see a connection warning (even in the Vault is online). Simply follow the provided link (Step 1 in the screenshot) to resolve the issue and proceed with your restore.
Depending on the browser, a warning will be displayed asking permission to proceed.
In Google Chrome, click on Show Advanced and then Proceed to continue.
In Microsoft Edge, Show Advanced and Continue.
In Mozilla Firefox, click on Advanced and Accept Risk and Continue.
Once the certificate is approved in that way, the next page will show that the connection to the Vault has been Successfully connected.
The browser will not require this step again. Go ahead and perform the Secure Remote Restore.
