Connector - Overview

The Connector is an application that Endpoint Cloud uses to authenticate your users' accounts. It connects to either Microsoft Active Directory or authenticates through email for Workgroup devices. It allows Endpoint Cloud to:

  • Identify Microsoft AD user accounts or authorise workgroup users via email
  • Identify the devices that are associated with those user accounts
  • Automatically create matching users and devices in Endpoint Cloud
  • Authenticate connections from devices to Endpoint Cloud.

For AD Authentication, the Connector should be installed on a domain-joined Windows server. This will enable both AD authentication or Workgroup authentication capability.

For Workgroup only authentication, the server can be a stand-alone non-AD joined server, but won't be able to authenticate AD Users.

You also need to register the Connector so that it can connect to Endpoint Cloud.
